  3.     Using the Menus
  4.     ---------------
  5.     The main menu has four sections.  Any item can be selected by
  6.     pressing the key corresponding to the capitalized letter in the
  7.     description.  Hence, to start a new game as white, you will find
  8.     the selection
  9.  
  10.     W  - start game as White
  11.  
  12.     You know that you can press 'W' to perform this function, since the
  13.     W in White is capitalized.    Also, for the main menu only, the
  14.     capitalized "Hot key" is also listed to the left of the description.
  15.     For other menus such as the play menu, you will have to look for the
  16.     capitalized letter.
  17.  
  18.     Starting Games
  19.     --------------
  20.     Games are started by pressing 'W' or 'B'.  Use 'W' to play the White
  21.     pieces, or 'B' for Black.  After you start a game it will be available
  22.     for Joining by another player.
  23.  
  24.     To Join a game started by someone else, press 'J'.  You will be
  25.     assigned the color that is available in that game.
  26.  
  27.     If you wish to start a game with a specific player, press 'C' for
  28.     Challenge.    You will automatically be assigned the black pieces for
  29.     that game and the player you specify will be assigned the white pieces.

  31.     You may start, Join or Challenge someone in as many games as your sysop
  32.     will allow in each different section.  For unregistered doors, this
  33.     limit will be two games.  To see the game limit imposed on your BBS,
  34.     press 'I' for Information from the main menu, followed by 'S' for
  35.     Settings.

  37.     Accessing Games
  38.     ---------------
  39.     You may play the games you have started by pressing 'P' for Play
  40.     from the main menu.  After reviewing the list of games you have, you
  41.     may give a specific game number or just press Enter to go through all
  42.     games you are playing and have a move.  To step through all games, be
  43.     sure to press 'N' for Next from the play menu instead of the
  44.     'Q' for quit, which returns you to the main menu.

  46.     You may view any game that is finished or between two other players by
  47.     pressing 'V' for View, and then specifying a game from the listing.  In
  48.     view mode, you will be able to replay some or all moves, and enter
  49.     notes that are retained as long as the game remains.

  51.     If your sysop has configured more than one section, you may switch
  52.     sections by using 'S' for section change.  There is a 100 game limit
  53.     per section which cuts down on disk and memory burdens.

  55.     To eXit the door
  56.     ----------------
  57.     To exit the BBS, press 'X' for eXit.

  59.     Bulletins
  60.     ---------
  61.     Reviewing the Statistics and History You may access any of the
  62.     following reports:

  64.     Ratings List      - USCF style ratings for the players. (Press 'R')
  65.  
  66.     Games in progress - A listing of all games in the current section
  67.                 which may be viewed.        (Press 'G')
  68.  
  69.     Game History      - A listing of all completed games.    (Press 'H')
  70.  
  71.     rEcords       - Player verses Player records shows the results
  72.                 between two players.        (Press 'E')
  73.  
  74.     These listings are also available as bulletins.  The sysop may elect to
  75.     run the maintenance program one or more times a day to update the
  76.     Ratings, Game in Progress or Game History bulletins.

  78.     Other Odds and Ends
  79.     -------------------
  80.     To see a demo, allowing you to see what the board looks like as well
  81.     as the look and feel of the menu, press 'D' for the Demo game.

  83.     For Help with the main menu, press '?'.  You will see this text.  A
  84.     question mark will also display help specifically for the Play and the
  85.     View menus, if press while viewing or playing a game.

  87.     To change as settings which might be available, press '&' from the main
  88.     menu.  At this time, the only configuration is whether to use ANSI or
  89.     RIP pieces.
